Mesopotamian Night Volunteers Appreciation Dinner 2019

On Friday September 13, 2019, the Assyrian Aid Society chapter of Santa Clara hosted an appreciation dinner for all volunteers that assisted with the 11th Annual Mesopotamian Night event.  The dinner was hosted at the Assyrian American Association of San Jose (Almaden Winery) located at 5730 Chambertin Dr., San Jose, CA.

The volunteers that attended included member of the MN choir, solo performers, behind the scenes individuals, and others who donated their time and services to make the event an absolute success.  Artistic Director Fred Elieh along side Executive Director Tony Khoshaba introduced every volunteer and explained their role and contribution to this year’s event.  They thanked them for their dedication and hard work, then honored them with a special MN pin that was made specifically for this event.  In addition, the MN executive committee introduced for the first time the “Volunteer of the Year” awards and were handed to:

  • Carmen David: Volunteer of the year for “Stage Performance”
  • Juliet Adam: Volunteer of the Year for “Venue Operation”
  • Monika Malekdavoud: Volunteer of the Year for “Programming”
  • Sargon Rameshk: Volunteer of the Year for “Production”

Dinner featured delicious middle eastern food with beef and chicken kabobs with all the side dishes catered by Nami-No Restaurant of Turlock.  The crowd was delighted with a sneak peek of a raw and unedited version of the actual concert, watching their own performance for the first time.  Of course, Assyrians can’t have group gathering without music entertainment and dancing and that is exactly what happened until the event concluded.

Our very own Ashur Mansour was at the event and managed to take beautiful pictures and videos once again to capture the moment for us.

Thank you for making MN2019 a big success.
